Circuit Road at Macpherson. Block 79 & 79A Hawker Centre.

Today is the 3rd day of Chinese New Year 2026, 189 February 2026, also the 3rd day of continuous rain non stop since the 1st day, 3 days in a row.

I don’t know if this is good or bad omen.

The Cantonese believed lots of water means Money.

Others believed every new year should start with bright sun shinning day for good harvest.

When I started filming this episode, it was cloudy and heavy rain started pouring before I completed.

Instead of taking MRT, this time I took a public bus instead that took me right into the heart of Circuit Road at Macpherson.

I dropped one stop before the hawker centre and started filming from there.

Block 78 & 79 Hawker centre was recently reopened few weeks ago after renovation.

It is now cleaner with better seats but the retro styling remains.

MacPherson largely consists of various public housing estates centred on Circuit Road and an industrial area.

The Pelton Canal runs through the neighbourhood, which separates a private housing estate off MacPherson Road, and the public housing estate along Circuit Road.

Many residents in MacPherson are from the older generation, as the area was one of the first major public housing projects developed between the 1950s to 1970s.
