This is Nitika Thakur starting HP gk series in which we will cover hp geography, art and culture of Himachal Pradesh, administration of hp, ancient medivial and modern history of himachal Pradesh and district profile of Himachal Pradesh .

Two stream namely Chandra and Bhaga rise on the opposite sides of the Baralacha pass at an elevation of 4891 mts. and meet at Tandi 2286mts. to form the river Chenab.
It enters pangi valley of Chamba district near Bhujind pass and leaves the district at sansari Nala to enter Podarvalley of Kashmir.

It flows in himachal for 122kms. with the total length of 1200 kms.

It is the largest river of Himachal Pradesh in terms of volumn of water .

The Miyar nala joins chenab in Lahore while Saicher Nala join it in pangi valley. It's tributaries in its lower course are river Jammu tawi and bhaga while the river munawarwalli is in Doon Valley.
