Ravi river rises from Bada bangal -a branch of dhauladhar as a joint stream formed by glacier fed badal and tantagiri.
The right Bank tributaries of Ravi are Buddhil, saaho , siul, tundah and left Bank tributary is chirchind Nala.
its Sanskrit name is iravati and vaidik name is purushani.
the river with its length of about 150 8th km in Himachal Pradesh has a catchment area of about 5451 square kilometres.
Ravi river separates pir panjal from dhauladhar range.
It follows nearly 130 km in Chamba before leaving it at kheri.
