6.9 idi diesel crank no start no power to glow plugs or injection pump fuel shut off solenoid fixed

In this video blue nose our 1986 ford f350 truck with a 6.9 idi diesel engine lost power to the fuel shut off solenoid driving to work. I pick it up with my rollback tow truck. First 8 minutes are spent rescuing the truck. Diagnosis and repairs begin at 8:33 if you want to skip forward. We diagnose some shorted out melted wiring in the glow plug harness. And I get it running again by hotwiring the fuel shut off solenoid, and adding a manual glow plug button.
