What a great original song by The Castellows' Powell, Ellie and Lily Balkcom. I play and sing along to this gem in the car non-stop. I play their debut EP A Little Goes A Long Way twice or more each way to work :)

‪@thecastellows‬ "A few little feathers" and "a little bit of leather" are so catchy. And when the gals lean in to deliver the line "Got the whole choir singing along", echoing the harmonies in the EP release it is priceless. The 'cross stitch in a lace seam' lyric is a little abstract for me and even LILY forgot those words the night before in Fort Worth - no worries though - Ellie filled in and hey it just shows they ARE human :) They can do no wrong IMHO. As they say to each other in some of the song intros "I got you", which is partly why we adore their band so much? They seem like kind, caring, hard-working young people .. real role models.

Back to the song. The other lyric here "Like a record stuck in your head, you're gonna be singing my songs" was prophetic. Yes, indeed, The Castellows debut EP songs ARE living rent free in my head. Thank you for this ear-delicious brain candy ladies!!! And that's coming from a rock-genre-loving City boy who is finding his way back to country music.
