Wichita Mountains - Ketch Ranch & Pearson Mine

Описание к видео Wichita Mountains - Ketch Ranch & Pearson Mine

Video from our 10-mile hike around the west side of Fort Sill. Yong and I climbed to the summit of the nearly 2,200-foot Mt. Sherman. Along the way we found an old dam, saw a porcupine in a tree, a coyote, and several elk. Once we came down the north side, we made our way over to what I thought was the old Pearson Mine Camp. It turns out this was actually the historic Ketch Ranch. We explored a short time before heading further east and finding the actual old homestead site. We located the 100-foot deep mine shaft (entrance covered) and several relics from the smelter that was built there in 1904. Very cool hike.
