Описание к видео Praise my soul - Alan Bullard [Johannus LiVE III AGO]

The hymn "Praise my soul, the King of heaven" will be forever associated with this melody by John Goss (1800-80). This wonderful organ piece by Alan Bullard is described as being variously a Postlude or a Processional and is typically inventive and original in its treatment of the melodic material, whilst ensuring that the hymn tune is instantly recognisable to all listening. This piece is included in the first volume of Sortie Sorted, published by @ChurchOrganWorld. To order, click this link:

This recording was made on a Johannus Live III AGO organ, using the sample of the fine Hill organ in the church of the Holy Name, opposite the University of Manchester on Oxford Road, Manchester. The sample sets can be heard from four positions: console, front of the church, centre of the church, rear of the church. This recording uses the rear of the church position, affording the most generous recording of the wonderful acoustic in this fine building.
