Tyldesley Cemetery, Manchester

Описание к видео Tyldesley Cemetery, Manchester

Tyldesley cemetery was first opened in 1878, it was in an area still known as Tyldesley today, the name taken from the Tyldesley family who owned a manor in the area. The family still survives today, albeit they own much less land due to selling parts of it off over the decades.

The cemetery itself has a chapel onsite which closed sometime before 2008 and is still unused to this day, being used as storage by the council for the cemetery. the other two chapels that were on the site were closed and demolished in the 1970s.

unfortunately not much information can be found about this cemetery or what is happening with the abandoned chapel inside the grounds. a local group was trying to raise funds to fix up the chapel around 2016 but there appears to be no current efforts to fix it up or places to donate money to to help with that.
