The California 14ers: White Mountain Peak

Hi everyone, this is our June trip to White Mountain Peak near Bishop CA. It's the third highest of the California 14ers and though some consider it the easiest, it isn't quite a walk in the park. It's 14 miles round trip starting from the Locked Gate, and you'll be above 12,000ft for most of the way. Proper acclimation would be a good idea.
My experience on this trip with Altitude sickness: This was my first time not using any Ibuprofen or Caffeine - around 13,000 feet I began to feel some nausea, which was very mild until we got back to the cars. But as we left, it intensified along with a big headache while driving back down the dirt road and didn't go away until 20 minutes after eating some food in Bishop. I'm not sure if it was lack of food, the elevation, or a mixture of both. I'm happy though, to not have used any Ibuprofen / Caffeine [can cause stomach problems] and plan to do the same on future trips.
