Daze of numb - Meg Blanckenberg (original song)

This song was written and recorded on wonky guitar strings, a video quickly drawn up using my phone and my finger, written about feeling detached from this world and the lesson I learnt.

I was getting depressed the more I got sucked into a daze of fantasy. Watching movies and series that left me utterly despondent and dissatisfied with my life.
The Lord taught me a significant lesson, which I continue to learn over and over again it seems, that the world is a drug that gives you a quick fix but leaves you feeling awful after the effects wear off, and that when we feel so far from reality, it is so important to fix our gaze on the realest thing - Jesus. And to take our eyes off ourselves, because when we're so focused on us... we become the idol, and that means trouble in so many ways.

I wrote this late one night.
It just happened.
I used guitar chords I can barely play and I tried my very best to write out my emotions and not what I thought other people wanted to hear me sing about.
