Season 27 of GBL was insane and brought us many things. Godzilla 2000, crazy ass buffs, and Megalon was added mid season for his 50th anniversary. G2K is my all time favorite Godzilla, but it pains me to say he is very lackluster and was completely outshined in his own season by everything else going on.

G2K is a 5 cost single target unit that shoots his orange heat ray to attack. When he defeats an enemy, he'll emit a fire pulse in a wide area that deals damage and burns for 8 seconds. He has a decent attack stat but has rather low hp. He also has slow immunity, which is a nice bonus but it doesn't help him much unless your opponent has M19. Against several weak enemies, G2K can set the battlefield ablaze.

Like Keizer, G2K relies on getting kills, which I don't like the concept of because most of the time a teammate steals his kill. G2K also has a hit delay on his attack making him worse at securing kills. And even if you do get one, the pulse is not that great. Burns do not scale with levels so it will always deal only 400 damage. The pulse also doesn't activate for on death evos and can't hit crystals or facilities limiting its uses even further. As he is, G2K is not worth a team slot. He's a weak support unit with a lame gimmick and doesn't contribute much compared to other units. This guy needs major buffs and fixes across the board, and burns should get a rework to deal meaningful damage. I wish he had a little more to his kit too, like health regen. This Godzilla has few abilities, but one of the most notable was his fast healing, and that was a major subject in the movie's plot, but sadly it wasn't included at all in GBL.

G2K leader is so horrible I only wanted to edit one match with him. His ability just deals damage and burns enemies around him. That's all. A purely damage dealing ability. No additional effect for your team, no synergy with anything, just straight damage. So this is essentially just half an ability. He doesn't even do his pulse when he gets a kill which is stupid. Overall G2K lead is terrible, feels incomplete and has no reason to be used. EDIT: Orga's season added level scaling to leader ability damage. Now, G2K's ability is very powerful, but he's still bad and is outclassed by other leads.

Megalon is a 3 cost unit that slaps his ass in studio mode and hops around the field spitting bombs at enemies. He has two great effects in his kit: First, on spawns he emits a massive purple circle around him that negates all enemy healing. Meaning PC, FR deaths and even Mothra's leader ability won't work inside the circle. It is very powerful in overtime and it lingers for quite a while too. Second, his bombs have aoe, and apply an attack debuff on enemies. Unlike GMK who can only apply it on spawn and on death, Megalon can cripple Bio or be a nuisance for Battra just by attacking normally.

Megalon provides nice support to a team, but his stats are downright pathetic. At lvl 12 his bombs only deal around 200 damage, and his health is almost nonexistent. The good thing about stats this bad is that levels won't make a huge difference on him. He could still be usable even in the 5 and up range. The effects in his kit don't improve with levels, so as long as you protect him, Megalon will still support you just fine.

Destoroyah got a FAT 60% attack increase this season and other improvements to his evos making him an absolute menace. I've seen plenty in the area and I'm so happy that he's finally an actual threat now. His flying form evolves fast enough that you can basically send Perfect Form out for 3. It's ridiculously good. Dest truly has come a long way since his debut season.

Shin received similar buffs but still has the same issues. He needs more range so he can snipe enemies, and a bigger aoe attack to make his niche more rewarding. Right now Dest is generally better, but Shin can still murder the fliers faster than any other unit in the game.

Jet Jaguar 73 received numerous buffs as well and is finally seeing play. Not only is he now 3 cost, but his range and knockback distance was increased, meaning he'll be better at protecting your other units. 4th Angel gets completely bodied by him now. If JJ defeats a 4A, the explosion won't be in range to hit him or allies nearby, this is outstanding. A former F tier unit saying fuck you to a tippy top S+ cuck brings tears of joy to my eyes.

This season was so much fun with the buffs they added, it's as if we got 5 new characters in one season. But it's so depressing that G2K was outshined by other units in his own season. Next time I'll be taking a look at GODDAMN GAMERA AND GYAOS. Stay tuned.
