In this video clip, we have discussed about using Orgevit as an alternate of DAP in wheat crop.
Farmers often use DAP fertilizer in agriculture since it contains both phosphorus and nitrogen, with 18% of each nutrient. It's worth noting that India had the highest DAP consumption in 2019, reaching 17.2 million tonnes.
DAP, short for Di-Ammonium phosphate, is a widely utilized fertilizer in agriculture across the globe. Its production involves the reaction of ammonia with phosphoric acid. The Nitrogen and Phosphorus content of DAP stands at 18% and 46% respectively, while its pH level is above 7.5. Upon entering the soil, it swiftly disintegrates, thereby liberating phosphate and ammonium for the nourishment of plants.
The use of DAP as plant food may lead to a temporary increase in soil pH, but in the long run, it can cause increased soil acidity due to ammonium nitrification. Taking into account the long-term implications of utilizing DAP is crucial, and appropriate steps must be taken to safeguard the health of the soil. In a high-pH environment, the conversion of its ammonium ion to ammonia is highly likely, rendering it incompatible with alkaline chemicals.
