When I turned 50 I bought myself a longboard, and have been slowly teaching myself to ride.
When the weather agrees I skate to work once or twice a week and I gotta say it's the most fun I've had commuting for a long time!
I still cannot slide it, but my balance is getting better. It's a terrific workout, especially if I use the "landpaddle"
It takes me about 1hr 15mins to skate the 12 kms.
The Longboard is a Canadian made, Landyachtz "switchblade 40"
