Repair of a Forespar Telescoping Whisker Pole with Control Line

Описание к видео Repair of a Forespar Telescoping Whisker Pole with Control Line

Follow along as we repair a neglected and non-functioning aluminum whisker pole. First, we remove the cast aluminum end fittings by drilling out rivets. That allows removal of the internal control line strut and its pulley. Next, the two extruded aluminum tubes are separated from one another. A hammer was needed due to some internal corrosion. New holes are then drilled and threads tapped for the installation of a new cleat. Finally, the components are reassembled in sequence and new pop rivets are installed at each end fitting. We then test the pole under sail on our Rhodes 41, heading dead downwind, wing and wing, with the main sail secured by a preventer line.
