Q: What is aqueous solution in chemistry?
Ans: The solution which is formed by dissolving a substance in water is called aqueous solution. The word aqueous is derived from a Latin word "Aqua". It means water. So, aqueous solution means water solution.
In aqueous solution, water is present in large amount in the water as a solvent.
For example, when you dissolve sugar in water;  you get an aqueous solution.
