Highlights from ART X Lagos 2022

ART X Lagos is West Africa's premier international art fair, designed to showcase the best and most innovative contemporary and modern art from Africa and its diaspora. The Fair which opened on Friday 4 November 2022, featured together over 120 artists from over 40 countries across Africa and the diaspora, presented by 31 leading international galleries.

For our debut at ART X LAGOS 2022, we presented SWIMMING UPSTREAM, a collection of paintings, ceramics and an installation by Anne Adams, Damilola Onosowobo, Justice Mukhelli and Nene Mahlangu. SWIMMING UPSTREAM is inspired by our personal and collective search for freedom and identity in the different parts of our lives that include social, cultural, financial and existential tenets. It expands on the idea of what we are willing to do and how far we are willing to go to find meaning.
