Cheap and Easy Multimeter testing / calibration with AD584 Voltage Reference + Cheap Aldi Meter test

Описание к видео Cheap and Easy Multimeter testing / calibration with AD584 Voltage Reference + Cheap Aldi Meter test

Hey everyone! Welcome back to FixIt All Workshop!

Today, I’m diving into something super useful for all you DIY enthusiasts out there—a cheap and easy way to test and calibrate (if possible) your multimeters using the AD584 voltage reference chip. This little board gives you four precise voltages (2.5V, 5V, 7.5V, and 10V), making it perfect for hobbyists who want to ensure their meters are accurate without spending a fortune.

In this video, I’m going to show you how 3 different multimeters measure up against this chip. One of them even got a calibration tweak because it's calibration was analog via variable resistor! But that’s not all—stick around as I unbox a brand new, crazy cheap multimeter I picked up from Aldi for just £7.8. (yes less than 8 pounds) Spoiler alert: It holds up pretty well against the AD584! :))

Plus, I’ll explain why having an accurate multimeter is so crucial, giving as an example something like car batteries, where a small difference in voltage can mean a lot. And the best part? The AD584 only costs about £7, making it an affordable option for those of us who don’t need a high-end, certified multimeter, but we want to make sure the ones we got are decent.
