Drop-Shot Nymph Rig with Tenkara

Using a drop-shot nymph rig with a small Bead Head Prince Nymph and a variation of the Utah Killer Bug. This seems to be a very effective combo for Utah streams. Sometimes you just need some weight to get these nymphs down to where the fish are and I have noticed the drop-shot gets snagged so much less than if you were to put a split shot above your flies. That is why I use this combo. I was able to hook and land five Browns and they were taking both the Prince Nymph and the Utah Killer Bug.

I seem to always use, and did again today, the Tenkara USA Ito with a tapered leader and 2' of tippet. This is such a nice pole for most conditions as you can telescope it down, which I do when throwing nymphs with a drop-rig because the action is just perfect!
