0:00 Intro
Panoramic pictures are easily created within the camera raw editor (or Lightroom) if your base files are well aligned. To capture this panorama, it was important to set up the tripod correctly so that I get a final image with a straight horizon while framing the scene nicely.

My goal for this shot was to bring back a more detailed sky with strong colors, especially around the sun. Also, I wanted to keep the details in the foreground, but wanted to adjust the colors slightly to get fewer green tones (I just don’t like those in this case). Most of the editing was done in the camera raw editor, while I used Photoshop for the final post processing part.

0:27 1. Basic Adjustments
After merging the panorama, I changed the profile to Adobe Standard to get less contrast and switched the white balance to give me warmer overall tones. I brought down the highlights to get back details from the sky, then also dropped the shadows slightly while raising the blacks. Then, I pushed the vibrance a bit to get more saturation.

3:40 2. Local Adjustments
I started with linear gradient over the sky. To make it darker I dropped the exposure and also the temperature to get some blue tones in the clouds. Then, I used radial gradients to add glow and warmth around the sun. Here I used different sized with different settings, but basically, I used increased blacks, decreased dehaze and added temperature for warmth. Also, I added a radial gradient in the center to brighten up the area by increasing the whites.

7:10 3. Color Grading
I started in the HSL Panel. In the hue settings, I dropped the green and yellow hue a bit to change the foliage and the grass color. In the saturation tab, I boosted the orange tones, and decreased the greens. For the split toning I added a warm tone to the highlights and a cold tone to the mid-tones.

9:30 4. Photoshop
Finally, in Photoshop, I used the spot healing brush to remove a few objects. Then using the brush on a soft light layer, I added more glow around the sun. Also, I did a bit of dodging here and there using the TK panel plug in to create luminosity masks.
