STERNOCLAVICULAR MOTION

Описание к видео STERNOCLAVICULAR MOTION

This second video in shoulder complex biomechanics focuss on the sternoclavicular joint motions. The sternoclavicular or SC joint has three degrees of freedom and thus have 3 rotatory and 3 translatory motions. The three rotatory motions are ELEVATION DEPRESSION; PROTRACTION RETRACTION; ANTERIOR AND POSTERIO ROTATION.
During elevation the lateral end of clavicle is taken as reference point and the lateral end moves up during elevation and lateral moves down during depression. Whereas during protraction and retraction the lateral end moves anteriroly and posteriorly. Anterior and Posterior rotation of SC joint are spin motions around an AP axis. But clavicle has primary rotation in the posterior direction and very minimal in anterior.

Queries solved:
1. Motions of sternoclavicular joint
2. SC Joint elevation and depression
3. SC joint protraction and retraction
4. SC joint anterior and posterior rotation
5. SC Joint elevation depression range of motion
6. SC Joint protraction retraction range of motion
7. SC joint anterior and posterior rotation range of motion
8. Axis and planes of sternoclavicular joint motions
