Scapulothoracic joint is a functional joint and not a true anatomical joint formed by atriculation between Scapula and the Thorax. The function at Scapulothoracic joint is contributed by both Acromioclavicular and Sternoclavicular joints. The scapulae rests in thorax at a specific angulation called resting postion of scapule which is about 5 cm from midline, between 2 nd to 7 th rib and 30-45 degree from coronal plane, 10-20 degree anterirly tilted and 5-10 degree upwardly rotated. The rotatory movements in scapulothoracic joint are UPWARD AND DOWNWARD ROTATION, ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR TILT AND INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ROTATION. The transaltory movements are ELEVATION DEPRESSION AND PROTRACTION RETRATCTION.
