Zonal denial: the plants you try to grow in completely the wrong climate!

Описание к видео Zonal denial: the plants you try to grow in completely the wrong climate!

This week on The Horti-Culturalists we're talking zonal denial; the affliction that many gardeners suffer from whereby you try to grow plants that are COMPLETELY unsuited to your climate!! Stephen is in a cool climate area with mild frosts and occasional freezing winter minimums and yet still try's to grow tropical and subtropical plants! Sometimes with success and sometimes not. So in this video we'll look at eight plants that to varying degrees of success are beating the odds and the frosts to survive, if perhaps not always to thrive, in Stephen's garden! And just why we keep on trying to push the odds! The plants we look at in this video are:
Wigandia urens
Heteropterys glabra
Alloxylon flammeum
Acanthus polystachyus
Plectranthus ecklonii
Tecomanthe hillii
Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum
Agathis moorei
