* Ligaments:
1. Upper layer of the coronary ligament. 2. Lower layer of the coronary ligament.
3. Right triangular ligament. 4. Left triangular ligament.
5. Lesser omentum. 6. Falciform ligament.

* Bare areas:
1. Right triangular bare area. 2. Groove for IVC.
3. Porta hepatis. 4. Fossa for the gall bladder.
5. Fissure for ligamentum teres. 6. Fissure for ligamentum venosum.

* Embryonic ligaments of the liver:
1. Ligamentum teres (LL)
- It is a cord-like ligament that connects the umbilicus to the left branch of the
portal vein.
- It represents the obliterated and fibrosed left umbilical vein which carries oxygenated
blood from the placenta to the left branch of the portal vein during fetal life.
- It runs in the free inferior border of the falciform ligament.
2. Ligamentum venosum
- It is a fibrosed ligament that connects the left branch of the portal vein to the IVC.
