Hye Jung Lee performing "I Am The Wife Of Mao Tse-ting" from Adams' opera Nixon in China during the fourth preliminary round of the 2011 Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.
This captivating portrayal of Madam Mao helped the Korean soprano move on to the final round.
Following the competition, she debuted as Papagena (Magic Flute) at Florida Grand Opera and has since been cast around the world, including San Francisco Opera, Oper Kiel, New Zealand Opera and Nationaloper Amsterdam. She debuted as a recitalist in 2009 at Carnegie Hall.
