This video will take you to the unexplored tribal villages in the Nilgiris(near Kotagiri) that are not on Google Maps. The Nilgiris famous for Kota, Kurumba and Irula Tribes. It was our fortune to visit these beautiful villages of the Irula and Kurumba tribes who live in the middle of the dense forest.

The Kurumbas, an indigenous Nilgiris tribe, are expert forest dwellers and are also known for their healing powers. Also the Kurumba tribal painting is an age-old art form in India still practiced by the Kurumba tribes in Nilgiris. The Kurumba paintings depict the tribe’s way of life--farming, animals, their honey hunting escapades etc.
Also amazed to learn about the 4000 year old ancient burial method followed by the Irula tribes in this region.
