Kalo Dungar or Black Hill is the highest point(458metres above sea level) in the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. It is located at a distance of 97km from the main city of Bhuj and some 25 km from the village of Khavda. It is very near to the India's border with Pakistan and also there is an army post at the top of the hill where civilians are not allowed. The place attracts tourists all year round, as it offers some breathtaking views of The Great Rann of Kutch full of white salt and Rann of Kutch lake. Along with the beautiful and panoramic views, there is also a temple dedicated to Lord Dattatreya at the hill and there is an interesting story related to the temple which goes like this, it is said when Lord Dattatreya once visited Black Hill, he found a group of hungry jackals, as he did not had anything to give them to eat, so he offered himself to the jackals to eat and as they ate his body continually regenerated itself. Since then, jackals come at a place near to temple for meal regularly and the priest of the temple offers them prasad after praying (performing aarti) in the evening.
In this video, I explore this beautiful and mystic hill of Kalo Dungar and soak in some of the best views I have ever seen in my life. Surely, if you visit Kutch region, this is a must visit tourist attraction.
