American cities are getting unbearably hot (CNN)

New reporting from CNN rings alarm bells about rising temperatures in the biggest cities in the United States, based on analysis of 50 years of temperature data provided by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).

The country’s 50 most-populated cities are getting hotter and hotter, and all but three are experiencing more 'extremely hot' days above 95° Fahrenheit. The biggest increase was seen in Las Vegas, with every July day in the city going above 105°, topping out at 120°.
