On a gorgeous, warm and sunny day this lovely walk takes us around the beautiful Ness Botanic Gardens between the villages of Ness and Burton on The Wirral Peninsula in England. They have lovely views overlooking the Dee Estuary and across to North Wales. The 64 acre gardens were founded in 1898 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley. A former cotton merchant in Liverpool he had a passion for gardens and plant collecting. After his death his daughter donated the gardens to the University of Liverpool under the condition that the gardens must remain open to the public. The gardens support and participate in plant based scientific research, the collection of plants are used by both staff and scientists from across the UK for better understanding. As part of the University of Liverpool, degree and post-graduate students use the gardens for research linked to their dissertations. There are many beautiful features throughout the gardens including the terraces, rock gardens, water gardens, wildlife meadow and more. With so many beautiful sights around every corner and bend this is a very enjoyable and relaxing walk that makes you feel like you are a million miles away.
