Beaumaris Coastal Town Walk | Anglesey | Welsh Countryside | 4K

On a lovely sunny afternoon this delightful walk is around the beautiful town of Beaumaris on Anglesey in North Wales. This wonderful little town has a lot packed in to it. Originally a Viking settlement the town developed in 1295 when Edward I commissioned the building of Beaumaris Castle. One of the standout sights of Beaumaris are the picturesque cottages and buildings throughout the town that are painted in soft pastel colours. From the charming winding streets to the lovely courtyard and open seafront you will see the beautiful colours all around. The main road has many lovely shops, cafes and restaurants along it including one of the oldest houses in Great Britain, built around 1400. At the end of the high street is Beaumaris Castle, complete with a water filled moat, this is a perfectly preserved and intact castle with a very interesting history. Sitting on the edge of the Menai Strait, Beaumaris has stunning views across to Snowdonia National Park, a long beautiful seafront promenade and a 570 foot pier to walk along. Beaumaris has had an RNLI lifeboat station since 1891 and the lifeboat was out training today in the Menai Strait (you can see it going past as we are walking down the pier). The seafront is lined by more lovely hotels, cafes and restaurants and day trips run daily from the pier for rib rides, fishing and nearby Puffin Island.
