Certain objects in engineering has the surface with irregular shape.Means these shapes cannot be drawn simply with given dimensions.We have to take into consideration that where the mode of direction changes or which points are important to draw the shape of this object.Likewise while drawing two dimensional figure in orthographic, mark such points and see the horizontal,vertical distances plotting a chart of X-direction & Y-direction.The orthographic view requires only two dimensions in order to draw one view out of F, T & S.Means the plane surface of 100×100 mm in the Front view has points A, B & C where the direction of straight line changes on this plane.Therefore, the chart is made to know how much distance is there in OX- direction and OY-direction of points A, B & C.Here in this object 'A' point is at 30 mm horizontally & 50 mm vertically.Hence, take the distance of 30 mm on OX line,mark faint vertical line.Same way take 50 mm on OY line from O and draw faint horizontal line.Both these lines meet at a point & we will get point 'A'.The points 'B' & 'C' also marked considering horizontal distance on OX direction & vertical distance in the direction of OY.Thus after plotting these main points, simply join YABCX as these are plane surfaces viewed in the Front view .For Top view the distance of width is essential.The edges will be dark outlines of the object.For Side view we have to see which edges are invisible to show by hidden lines.Only the overall dimensions are shown.
