"The Truth" is the first album by rapper Beanie Sigel. Initially planned for release in Fall 1999, it was postponed until February 8, 2000. However, it was finally released on February 29, 2000, receiving both critical and commercial acclaim. In its first week, "The Truth" sold 155,000 copies. It entered the US Billboard 200 chart at number 5. The album's single, "Anything" by Jay-Z, also charted. Beanie Sigel and his debut album gained significant attention and excitement, especially after some impressive collaborations. According to Matt Conaway of AllMusic, "The Truth" fulfills the promise shown in those collaborations.

Dwight Equan Grant, born on March 6, 1974, and known as Beanie Sigel, is an American rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He gained recognition through his connection with Jay-Z, serving as a prominent artist for Jay-Z's former label, Roc-A-Fella Records. Sigel's first album, "The Truth," released in 2000, was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, reaching number five on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition to his solo career, Sigel led the Philadelphia-based group State Property, which included fellow Roc-A-Fella artists. The group debuted in 2002 with a film named after them, featuring Grant in a leading role. State Property released two highly regarded studio albums.
