WALKS IN SUSSEX at GRAFFHAM & HEYSHOTT (SOUTH DOWNS NATIONAL PARK) (4K)

In this episode of my series “ Walks in Sussex” I take a walk along the South Downs between the pretty villages of Graffham & Heyshott. Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan.

I start my 5 mile circular walk from St Giles church in Graffham (the village is located half way between the towns of Midhurst & Petworth, nestled on the Northern side of the South Downs).

Straight away I climb to the top of the South Downs and join the South Downs Way (Long Distance Path) – heading West through sections of Graffham Down. After enjoying a delightful woodland walk I come off the Downs, heading North (downhill!) to the enchanting village of Heyshott.

The village is full of delightful houses & cottages – many with a great deal of history behind them – as well as the pretty church of St James.

I stop off at the Unicorn Inn – a dog friendly pub – for light refreshment before heading East back to Graffham , following a public bridleway along the foot of the Downs.

Two beautiful villages as well as some stunning views from both the top & bottom of the South Downs – a really enjoyable walk.
