Empire Remix 1 | Abandoned Project in Subang Jaya | Delayed for more than 7 years and counting

Launched in 2012, Empire Remix is a dynamic integrated commercial development in USJ1 comprising hotel suites, home offices, office suites, a scholar tower and a retail mall. The project was originally planned to be completed in 2016.

However the project was unable to be completed by the developer due to financial difficulties. Less than 30% of Empire Remix 1 had been completed before the project came to a halt.

As a result, 2,500 buyers — who have collectively paid RM500 million through end financing, excluding their down payment and bank interest for their property — have been left with nothing to show for it.

However, the Empire Remix 2 located across the road were resurrected and renamed Edumetro. The purchasers have already collected their keys in May 2023.

Based on a Kuala Lumpur High Court decision in July 2023, the appointment of a white knight company to resuscitate the project is not valid.

The project has already been delayed by about 7 years and even with a white knight in the picture, it could take another 3-5 years to complete.

Will the project ever be completed or it would become a white elephant?

According to the marketing material in 2014:

Empire Remix consists of Crystal Tower, Scholar Tower, Loft Tower, Business Suites, Loft Tower II, Loft Tower III, Wolo Hotel and Shopping Mall.
