SV. The French referee Monsieur Guigue tossing up between the two captains Billy Wright and Juan Segarra - start of the intentional football match between Spain and England. SV. Spanish supporters with banners. GV. Spain kick off, wearing dark shirts. The English players wear white shirts with black armbands in memory of Sir A. Brook Harst, Vice President of the FA (Football Association). Spain take possession of the ball and kick up field. SV. Mass crowds. LV. Spain attacking from the right wing. The ball comes right over to English goalkeeper Ron Bayham who dives to collect. He falls to the ground and scrambles after the ball. Jose Paya tries to intercept but the goalie cleverly dives through Paya's legs. Bayham picks himself up and clears up field. SV. England attacking. Tom Finney running with ball, he passes to John Atyeo who collects. He passes forward to Finney again, at the same time Campanal fouls Finney and brings him down. SV. Finney laying on the ground while Campanal runs forward. Goalkeeper Carmelo rushes out to collect ball. Referee points for a penalty. SV. Mass crowds watching. SV. Finney taking the penalty kick, he shoots. The goalie Carmelo dives and saves. He picks himself up and clears up field. LV. Spain attacking from the right wing in front of the England goal. The ball is passed right across in front of the goal mouth. Manuel Domenech dives to head towards goal but the ball goes wide. GV. Massed crowds. STV. Midfield play with England attacking. Ball is passed out to Finney who receives. He immediately passes to Nat Lofthouse. Lofthouse passes back to Ron Clayton. Clayton cleverly chipped a pass over the defenders for Atyeo to bring the ball down with his thigh. He turns and shoots home. Score: England 1 - Spain 0. LV. Crowds cheering. STV. Midfield play with England attacking, lead up to England's second goal. LV. Billy Perry chasing after the ball. He catches it up and shoots. The ball tears past goalie Carmelo, who has already rushed out to try and receive it, and goes into the open net. SV. Players congratulating. Score: Spain 0, England 2.



GV. Pan, massed crowds. Half time. SV. England attacks. The ball is received by Johnny Haynes. He dribbles past the Spanish defenders and shoots but the ball just goes wide off the post. LV. Massed crowds. SV. Lofthouse evading Jesus Garay. He shoots, ball goes straight into the net past goalie Carmelo. Pan back to the players and referee giving an offside. SV. Carmelo standing in goal mouth. LV. Finney running down the right wing with the ball, he past Garay and shoots, ball goes in the net. Pan as players congratulate. Score: England 3 - Spain 0. SV. Carmelo standing in goal mouth watching game go up to the other end. GV. Spain attacking in the fog. Their outside left wing evades the goalie, he shoots but the ball rebounds from the goal post and comes back into play. Miguel Gonzalez collects. SV. Gonzalez with the ball in front of the English goal mouth. He shoots but the ball is deflected from an English player and rebounds from the goal post. GV. Massed crowds. SV. Play in front of the Spanish goal. Ball is passed from Clayton into the middle, for Perry to jump and head, and the ball goes into the net. Pan, players congratulate. Score: England 4 - Spain 0. GV. Massed crowds applauding. GV. Gonzalez with the ball, he kicks straight over to Ignacio Arieta. Arieta jumps to head for the ball and it goes straight into the corner of the net. Score: England 4 - Spain 1.
