GV Packed stands. GV England in white shirts, kick-off. LV Crowd. LV Scotland attack down the right wing, the ball is crossed but Jimmy Meadows heads away. Ball goes to Bobby Johnstone, he has a slam but it strikes a solid wall of English defenders. Roger Byrne holds off McKenzie, ball runs to MacMillan (McMillan - alt. spelling) who balloons it over the bar. CU Scotland supporters in crowd. GV England attacking down the middle. SV Martin fails to hold a high ball, it runs loose to Nat Lofthouse who turns it inside. It runs to the waiting Wilshaw who crashes it home. LV Crowd. CU Stanley Matthews tricking with the ball. He beats two Scotland defenders before turning inside. He then positions himself in the open for a return pass which comes. He kills the ball, looks around for a well placed team mate. He is watched by two Scots defenders. As they move in to tackle, Matthews slips through both of them, passes to a team mate whose header is collected by goalkeeper Martin. SV Crowd. LV Matthews to Revie. Revie sends a pin point pass to Lofthouse. Lofthouse beats Haddock and beats Martin with a beautiful drive. 1-0 for England. Pan, players congratulating. GV Crowd cheering. SV Matthews running up wing with ball. CU Matthews running up wing with ball. Matthews inside to Don Revie. Revie pushes it through to Lofthouse whose back-heel is collected by Haddock, and Haddock sends his own line away. CU Haddock running ball up the wing and kicking up field. LV Scotland attacking. McMillan inside, ball runs to Lawrie Reilly who shoots and scores. LV Crowd cheering. LV England attacking. Wilshaw heads towards goal. The ball hits the post and comes back into play and Scotland clear with no English forward up. SV Crowd applauding.



LV England still attacking. Revie taps the ball into an empty net. Pan, players congratulate. SV Crowd. LV England attacking. Ball to Matthews, he beats two defenders before passing to Revie. Revie gets into trouble with Haddock, but Matthews who is following up nips in to collect the ball, outstrips the defence as he runs along the goal-line passes it back to Lofthouse who shoots and scores. Pan, players congratulate. GV Crowd. Half time score - England 4, Scotland 1. GV England resume with an attack down the middle. SV Crowd. Ball through to Frank Blunstone who centres. LV Lofthouse chases the centre heads it back to prevent it going out, then unable to stop to run, he trips over pressmen on goal-line, ball still remains in the Scottish danger area. CU Scots in crowd. LV Matthews with the ball, he beats Haddock, centres, and Wilshaw is on the spot to head home. LV Wilshaw again finishing a Matthews centre, by shooting and scoring. CU Glum looking Scotland supporter. SV Matthews running in with ball. LV Matthews centres to Revie who passes to Wilshaw. Wilshaw shoots and scores to complete his hat trick. Pan, players congratulate. GV Crowd cheering. CU Glum Scots. GV Scotland attacking. CU Crowd (Scotland awarded free kick). LV Docherty takes a sixty yard free kick, ball beats Williams. SV Ball in net, pan back to Scots players congratulating. International football match between England and Scotland finishes with score 7-2 for England.
