My FAVORITE Hopper Fly! The Top-Shelf Hopper! || Fly Tying Tuesday's Pt. 2

The Top-Shelf Hopper has quickly become my favorite hopper pattern and my go-to dry fly for dry dropper fishing! I love the double foam because it floats so well and can float some heavier nymphs without sinking so quickly. I also love anything with hackle! Not only does this fly float heavy droppers, it also CATCHES fish! I move a lot of fish and catch quite a few!

Recipe:
Hook: Size 10 3XL wide gap hook
Thread: any color heavy thread, here 140 olive
Body: brown and tan 2.0mm foam
Wing: Poly yarn and crystal flash
Dubbing: super-fine dry fly dubbing and ice dubbing
Hackle: Whiting Farms Hackle in Brown
Legs: Any rubber legs works fine
