The Application of AI Tools in Art and Design Education: An International Perspective

The Office of the Provost is pleased to host a panel discussion on the current application of AI tools at SVA and among our peers at Chung-Ang University (CAU), in Seoul, South Korea. This conversation is a companion to the one we began in April on the topic of generative AI. That panel contemplated more the ethical, legal, and philosophical aspects of AI. Panelists from both SVA and CAU will share their respective approaches to the use of AI in the production of student work and professional practice, with a particular emphasis on animation, visual effects, and the digital arts. Importantly, panelists will share their thoughts on the degree to which industry and its expectations for creatives shape curriculum and teaching an ever-evolving technology.
