Tutorial of replacing/repair a broken controller pin in the Mercedes command system. Mercedes used this type of controller in the following models: C / E / CLS / GLK / SLK W204 / W212 / R172 / X204 / S218

Problem description:
There is no reaction on the screen when rotating command knob. All other functions of the knob (front/back/left/right move, press down) works perfectly.

This is a common problem in Mercedes cars. Manufacturer uses poor-quality plastic pin which transfer rotation of the knob to the controller. It's always a matter of time for it to break. As a result, knob rotates normally but there is no reaction on the screen. If you go to the authorised service they will replace whole controller what is extremely expensive and doesn't solve the problem for long. If you replace plastic pin with our aluminium one you get lifetime warranty that this problem will never occur again.
