Mim Tea Garden also known as Mim Busty by the locals is a human settlement or a small village specially known for its wide production of Tea in the Darjeeling Hills of West Bengal. Mim Busty or Mim Tea Garden lies between Sukhiapokhri and Lepchajagat of the Darjeeling Hills and is nestled at an elevation of about 5000 feet above sea level. The surrounding ambiance of Mim Tea Village or Mim Busty is very serene and tranquil and it is an absolute peaceful sojourn within the lap of the Himalayas ideal for nature lovers. Mim Tea Garden or Tea Estate was established around mid to late 1800 by the British. The name of this tea garden ‘Mim’ derived from a colloquial or local language ‘Mem’ which is literally refereeing to a British Lady by the people of this region as ‘Mem Sahab’. Earlier during the time of the British rule in India, this tea estate of Mim Tea Village was managed and taken care by a British Lady, to whom the locals of this village called as ‘Mem Sahab’ and referred to this tea garden as ‘Mem Ko Kaman’ meaning the garden which is run by a British Lady. The garden of Mim Tea Garden mostly comprises of China Cultivar. The tea those are more popular here are the teas from ‘First Flush’, ‘Oolongs’ along with other ‘Colonal teas’. Rare species of White Tea are also found here. Mim Tea Garden is located around 12 km from Tiger and the nearest town is being Sukhiapokhri which is located around 04 km away. On a clear day Mim Tea Garden or Mim Tea Garden offers splendid view of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges of Mt. Kanchenjunga along with Darjeeling town. Mim Tea Garden is an ideal gateway for tourists those who loves to spend their holiday with the lap of Mother Nature with absolute peace and calm ambiance all around. Mim Tea Garden was established in the mid to late 1800s. Mim Tea Garden is spread over an area of about 390.52 hectares.
