Walking Tour Exploring the Vibrant Streets of Essaouira: Music, Fishermen, and Hidden Gems!

Join me on an unforgettable walking tour of Essaouira, Morocco! 🌍 From the moment I woke up to the enchanting sounds of Gnaoua music drifting through my hotel window, to the bustling fishing port and beyond, this adventure is one for the books.

*Highlights of the Day:*

🎶 *Morning Tunes:* Woke up to the soul-stirring Gnaoua music playing from the streets below my hotel room. A perfect start to the day!

🐟 *Fishing Port:* Strolled down to the vibrant fishing port where seagulls flocked in search of scraps. Watched the fishermen clean their catch, and witnessed a humorous battle between a determined fisherman and some very persistent seagulls!

🚤 *Blue Boats:* Wandered down the ramp to admire the iconic small, bright blue fishing boats. Met two friendly fishermen who invited me aboard, shared their fishing process, recited beautiful Arabic poetry, and enjoyed a refreshing cup of mint tea together.

🏝️ *Beach Tales:* Met a local who shared fascinating stories about two small islands nearby—one a former jail and the other a castle for a sultan.

🏙️ *Old Medina:* Explored the bustling old Medina, filled with locals making a living during the peak tourist season, especially with the Essaouira Gnaoua Festival in full swing. Finding accommodation was a challenge, but I managed to secure a cozy Riad for $120 per night.

🕌 *Friday Prayers:* Made my way to the mosque for Friday prayers, then headed back to the Riad to rest before my next adventure.

- *Accommodation:* Book well in advance if visiting during the Essaouira Gnaoua Festival. Camping is allowed by police only during the festival if hotels are fully booked.
