Peru beat Belgium 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25) on Saturday in Lima, Peru, during the FIVB Volleyball Women´s Junior World Championship Peru 2011 5-8 classification semifinal round at Eduardo Dibos Gymnasium, sending the host team into the fifth-place match on Sunday against Dominican Republic. Belgium will play Slovakia for seventh place on Sunday.
Peru's top scorer was Grecia Herrada with 16 points in the match, next to Clarivett Yllescas with 14 points and Brenda Uribe with 13 points. Lise Van Hecke, the leading scorer throughout the tournament with 189 points, led Belgium with 23 points in the match, next to Valérie El Houssine with 13 points and Lorena Cianci with 10 points. Belgium held a 12-7 margin in service aces, but their 36 errors in the match offset the advantage.
