Fueling Off-Road Adventure: Dual Tank Upgrade

Join us as we supercharge our Ambulander's capabilities with a dual auxiliary fuel tank installation!

As we transform our trusty Ford F450 super-duty ambulance into a rugged expedition truck camper, we also need to take self-sufficiency to the next level. With two new tanks adding a 128 litres (34 Gal) of diesel, we'll be ready to fuel our off-grid journeys even further into the wild and into the cold!

These tanks are a crucial upgrade for our hydronic heater (to heat the engine, for heated floors and hot water) and air diesel heater, keeping us cozy during those chilly nights under the stars. Plus, they give us that extra peace of mind with additional fuel for the truck, ensuring we can roam freely without the constant search for a fuel station.

So, how did we do it? Watch as we explain our process and detailed plans. This has required extensive research, but we are quite happy with the end result. This is our DIY Ambulance Conversion project into the ultimate 4x4 expedition truck.
