National Museum of Iran: Journey through the Rich History and Culture of Persia, in Tehran
The National Museum of Iran is a state museum in Tehran, Iran, that showcases the history and culture of Iran from ancient to Islamic times. It consists of two museums: the Museum of Ancient Iran and the Museum of Islamic Archaeology and Art of Iran. The museum houses a collection of over 300,000 objects, including pottery, metalwork, sculptures, coins, textiles, and manuscripts. Some of the highlights of the museum are the Salt Man, a mummified body from the 4th century BC, the statue of Darius I, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, and the exquisite Persian carpets from various periods. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events. The museum is open from 9 am to 7 pm in spring and summer, and from 9 am to 5 pm in autumn and winter.
