Описание к видео HOW TO EMPATHIZE WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS A DISABILITY | The Spoon Theory and My Design School Project

In this video, I talk about how to build empathy for those with disabilities including those who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, have a mobility disability including in a wheelchair and a wide range of other disabilities including invisible disabilities. I talk about the Spoon Theory and how it relates to building empathy. In this video I also share a project from graduate school, it is an audio-only project of three stories from people's experiences as a visually impaired or blind person. I would love to hear any comments or questions! Let's chat!

I'm Angela, a user experience and graphic designer who just so happens to be visually impaired! I was born with a rare eye condition called Sporadic Aniridia. I recently finished graduate school getting my Master of Design at the University of Washington. My research was focussed on inclusive design, universal design, accessibility. My specialty is on visual impairment and how designers can improve products and services for a wider range of people regardless of their certain circumstances. I hope you will come along on this journey with me. 💕
