Synopsis:
Full team effort on this one today. We were hoping that this video would represent a standard underground service installation and… the jury’s still out on what “standard” is! If you’re looking for a “simple” underground service installation; unfortunately, this one’s NOT IT. This is one of the biggest excavation projects we’ve ever done, but that doesn’t mean that it was completely foreign to us either. Though the amount of concrete in this yard was huge, the problem-solving process is pretty much the same as it would be in smaller situations.

Honestly, obstacles are always to be expected in the prep for underground projects. A contractor’s best friends are 1) plenty of time and 2) the right backup contacts in the ole’ work phone. With those things within reach, here’s how to positively handle a potential underground project derailment.
