Stage 3 of Tooth Decay: Dentin Decay

Описание к видео Stage 3 of Tooth Decay: Dentin Decay

In the third episode of our series "Stages of Tooth Decay" Wendy follows the bacteria into the softer part of the tooth, the dentin. At this stage of decay there will be a large hole, or the tooth will even break. If you feel sensitivity or pain when you consume hot, cold, or sweet foods and drinks, that may mean that bacteria are getting close to the nerves in your tooth. To prevent further damage to the tooth and deeper pain, the dentist drills the tooth to remove the bacteria, then fills the hole with a filling or a crown. Untreated, the decay will progress to the pulp of the tooth, and cause an infection that ultimately harms your entire body.
