Climate change is arguably the greatest threat to humanity and other species that our generation faces. We acknowledge that corporate interests are driving us to continue to destroy the planet and degrade humanity. But what if corporations became activists? What if it was in their best interest to do business with purpose? This groundswell is already underway and it may be the source of hope we need, at the speed we need, to mitigate the impacts of climate change. This talk will open our minds to new frontiers in commerce, where corporate and environmental interests align. Jill is an author, west coast explorer and a founder of Synergy Sustainability Consulting, a company that specializes in sustainable business best practices and communications. For the past 10 years, Jill has been actively working in both environmentalism and business, creating solutions that reduce environmental impacts while making businesses more successful. Her company has won awards for environmental excellence and has won the national Nicol Entrepreneurship award for best business concept in Canada. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
