Ghosts'n Goblins - US Version Arcade - 1CC ( 1 credit clear )

I am proud to present a 1CC (no continues used!) for the US version of Ghosts'n Goblins!

This run was accomplished on September 14, 2013. This run was played on my Japanese arcade machine on default game settings, and video was taken via a direct feed.

This is a really really tough game to crack on your own. Unlike my other videos (which are mostly my own strategies), I used mostly strategies I learned from watching various superplays online.

This is the US version of the game, which is the hardest version of the game (I think) due to the Satan boss (stages 5 and 6) taking 8 hits to kill! On later revisions (and on the PS2 port, they only take 4 hits each and have WAY easier flight patterns). This is enough to make the run highly dependent on luck, way moreso than its sequel Ghouls'n Ghosts, as these enemies have extremely random behavior

Although you only have to clear the second loop to get the true clear, I nearly made it past the third loop! I am extremely proud of this run.

This is the second game in the ghouls series that I've cleared on 1 credit! Next up is Super Ghouls'n Ghosts (SNES) and Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins (PSP).

The key to beating arcade games in this manner is to just keep practicing, but not enough to burn yourself out. I only put in a couple credits a day for a few months to pull this off, except for a few parts (stage 5 and 6 boss fights!) in which is really pays off to credit feed and practice.
