Andrews Tarn & Glacier Summer Hike - Rocky Mountain National Park

Описание к видео Andrews Tarn & Glacier Summer Hike - Rocky Mountain National Park

We started our hike from the Bear Lake parking lot at Rocky Mountain National Park at 9am. We took the Albert Falls trail up to Glacier Knobs and followed signs for the Loch Vale. We broke off the Skypond trail to head up Andrews Creek towards Andrews Tarn. The Loch Vale for georgous!! Once we broke off onto Andrews Creek, the trail was very rugged. Towards the top, we had to do quite a bit of route finding through the boulder field. Andrews Tarn was so still it easily reflected the sky and Otis peak in perfect detail. It was pretty cool to see the melting glacier into the tarn. On the way down, it rained and hailed for about 2 hours! We also ran into about 20 Elk who were blocking the trail.

Overall this was a 5-star hike! The hike took 7.5 hours; we climbed 2,200 feet in elevation and totaled 10.7 miles. Great day in Rocky Mountain National Park!!
