Winging it session 59 - Oyster bed city

A new location for session 59 and I found myself in Loch Creran. It looked great from the road but i soon discovered that the bay was pretty shallow and full of oyster beds so maybe not the best starting point for a foil.
I began my session with my 1c shim in the centre position exactly the same as session 58 but i soon discovered that you need a lot of wind to match the lift with the 1c and i spent my first 5 minutes trying to keep the board in the water, after A few minor tweaks to the mast position a flight was achieved.

I have now realised that the shim not only dictates the angle of the foil and stab but it also effects take off and flying speeds.

I changed to my 2c shim after 20 min and as you will see, it takes off quicker but it doesnt go as fast in the gusts.

2c for light winds or smooth flights
1c for high winds and big bumps
and with no shim it is hard to get up and keep steady but great for jumps.

I'll figure this shit out eventually:)
